Bait and Switch

 

  In the event you’re new to this blogsite, you’re in for a treat.

Normally this space contains folksy stories, personal complaints, or unvarnished political truth. That truth, by the way, is always slanted to the Right because I don’t believe the world’s inhabitants should be divided by race, sex, religion, or hair style.

Today, however, is different, since we are venturing into a realm that will certainly shock our regular visitors.

Our adventure begins well before most of us were born. As a youngster, I was normally glued to the regular television fare consisting of westerns, sitcoms, and cartoons, all generic in nature, all with a message. TVs had black and white pictures – not because color hadn’t yet been invented – and rabbit ears antennas.

These setups evolved into color pictures, shown on screens wider than a napkin, in addition to cable service eliminating those useless rabbit ear antennas. Things were beginning to become civilized.

As things evolved, we discovered new methods of watching, some of which include satellite receivers and Wi-Fi, besides new transmission formats such as high-definition television (HDTV), all of which were designed to enhance viewers pleasure. And life was good.

But just as with most things in life someone will invariably insist the perfect can now be even more prefect. And those are the proverbial burrs on our bare feet at the beach.

To prove my case, Virginia voters recently elected a stoic former CIA employee, who ran her campaign on thrift, cost effectiveness, affordable health care for all, immigration, and honesty. She claimed her time as a U.S. Representative taught her how to navigate through the rough waters of guvment. After all, the first woman gubenor of Virginia was going to improve things. Read: Make perfect more perfect.

Where to start?

Gubenor Abigail Spanberger is one of those people who have all the solutions; now she needs to find the problems. This is a brilliant way to run guvment because the answers sound so great since they always fit the problem, hand-in-glove style. No loose ends, no questions, no debate.

The Guv wants to deal with the immigration issue by refusing to work with the federal guvment and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) thereby eliminating Trump’s Nazi army from doing business in the Old Dominion.

She further has a hankering to lower prices to help constituents navigate their way through daily life. Unfortunately, Gubenor Spanberger is aching to quickly raise costs of hunting and fishing equipment, besides using the environment as a crutch with which to beat Virginia residents into absolute submission.

Insisting people cease using gas powered tools such as lawnmowers, edgers, leaf blowers, and so on, in order to save our fragile planet from guaranteed destruction, homeowners have been gravitating toward rechargeable tools to hopefully save money over fuel and maintenance. It worked!

Unfortunately, The Guv is jonesing to exact a pound of flesh from environmentally conscious residents by imposing a recurring tax on those tools, much like the annual vehicle tax Virginia levels at their drivers.

This is where you might be thinking: How does all this fit in with television?

I’m glad you asked.

It seems as though Great Britain, the nation across ‘the pond’ consists of three countries: England, Scotland, and Wales. Great Britain (GB) has a magnificent composition of leaders who have been woke for more years than you can imagine.

They opened their doors to immigrants from anywhere and everywhere for decades. Those grateful transplants came bearing unusable baggage in the form of indecipherable languages, diseases, and biased religions, all to the cheers of GB citizenry. They were far more mentally open than those nasty Americans.

London, the capital of England, elected a Muslim mayor just to prove they could all play well together. It’s a shame they couldn’t because of Sharia Law which was voted in to punish the infidels. This measure gave Muslims priority over non-Muslims. Still a genius move on the part of smart GB voters.

As such, freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and all other freedoms inimical to what Muslims feel is appropriate, have been banned and are currently used to incarcerate everyone deemed a bane to society.

Societal banes come from so many avenues including newspapers, the internet, radio, and television, alike. The means to nip these in the bud are through intrusive surveillance and subsequent censorship of whatever the immigrants feel is offensive. And Americans think President Trump is a Nazi dictator.

Since GB is an island, the powers-that-be can fairly easily control the media though the aforementioned monitoring. One of the more creative ways to control the access to information is by making it too expensive for the average citizen.

Leave it to the anointed Leftists in GB to charge citizens a tax on – drum roll, please – televisions. Yes, you read that right. I dare say American politicians couldn’t come up with a plan such as fining their constituents for buying and watching a TV.

The way this revenue stream works is as follows: people pay taxes to the GB guvment to produce programming on their television network system. That tax goes to buy television production equipment, transmission gear, and actors.

But here’s the rub. You also purchase your television set. Now you must pay for the right to own that television. Only a mastermind could conjure up a grift like this.

Which leads me back to Old Virginny.

Gubenor Spanberger seems hell-bent on making things far more expensive in her quest to make things more affordable. It could be the squirrels running loose in her head, or the fact she simply hates Virginia and its residents. But that’s not unusual for greedy Democrats.

She should reach out to the Brits for more information in this golden opportunity to squeeze even more hard-earned money from the electorate. I know she can do it because she lied while snookering a large portion of the voters into making her the first female gubenor in the Commonwealth.

She has already proven she has what it takes to be the president with such superior ideas. This television tax could be another arrow in her quiver to draw the last drop of blood from Virginians.

Time for a Choice

 

  Our lives are chock full o’ rules that appear in the form of laws, or simple civility.

For example, some laws include those associated with driving. If you speed while driving, you’re subject to being ticketed and subsequently fined. Those tickets, though, do not end there.

Mandatory insurance is always prepared to stick their noses into all moving violations that will also result in a steep increase in premiums for several agonizing years. The idea is since insurance companies must settle claims for its drivers, they use this opportunity to beat conformance into the driver. And so it goes with the rules, also known as guvmental behavior modification.

Plenty of governmental behavior modification can be found virtually anywhere. And this list of laws is seemingly endless; anything involving cars, guns, children, all the way down to the garbage that departs your home are already addressed by copious laws the guvment has thoughtfully put into place.

Changing out a broken ceiling fan, tossing dead batteries, leaf raking, bike riding, and landscaping are all mentioned in laws created by very fallible, albeit anointed, politicians, for our own good.

On the other hand, rules regarding civility are another matter. This category of freedom-stealing suggestions includes such activities as wearing clothing that can be considered lewd, using foul language in public, driving mufflerless vehicles, and throwing your clam shells on the floor during dinner, are all easily recognized as questionable, but not necessarily criminal activity.

For your information, the main difference between laws and civil behavior is that laws are meant to protect people, in the name of safety, while civil behavior applies to keeping daily life palatable. There’s a huge difference in someone waving a handgun around, and someone loudly snapping chewing. Sure, you want to punch both offenders into submission, but those are differences with distinctions.

In any case, politicians have the uncanny abilities to lie to your face, as well as ignore regulations when it’s convenient for them.

Diving into the deep end of laws made by “lawmakers,” we find ourselves with both Democrats and Republicans placing their thumbs on the scale of truth and tolerance.

Recall the bike riding premise mentioned above. These laws were instituted by concerned, overly nosy, smarmy politicians who claim to have the bet interests of “our children” in their hearts and minds. They don’t. They were merely pandering for votes by creating an overly punitive regulation which will damage an entire family.

Should that family allow their child to ride without protective equipment, a prying neighbor can call the police to report child abuse. That, in and of itself, is criminal. Should the parents be fined? Should the child be removed from the home for its safety?

All this hoopla was for votes. By the way, if the child was aborted, we wouldn’t be talking about this situation. How safe is the “choice” child now? Still, it’s the law, and subject to severe punishment.

Illegally crossing the border is a criminal violation. It proves that if border crossers are unable to follow rules of entry into our country, they would be equally unable to follow other rules. As such, they would, or should, be denied entry into our country lest they continually thumb their noses at questionable activities such as murder and rape.

Begun under the Biden Administration, non-English-speaking foreigners were actually encouraged to cross America’s borders without penalty. The legacy media spent four-years ignoring that invasion with high-ranking guvment officials – including Plugs Biden himself – that “The border was closed.”

Actually, it wasn’t. Four-years was ample time to allow and estimated 12 million to 15 million lawbreakers to flout our laws, with impunity. These ‘newcomers’ came with little in the way of clothing, money, communication skills, or civility. Yet many were able to pay “coyotes” – Mexican guides helping illegals safely cross the Rio Grande – an estimated $5,000 per person!

The only flag that should be
flown in America

That’s a lot of dinero for a family from a poor nation to amass in order to begin life anew. The bestest part is that if the illegal immigrants could not pay for their coyote passage, they would serve as couriers to transport equally illegal drugs into America. That service is a debt that makes criminal enterprises rich.

To appear empathetic to these invaders, federal, state, and local politicians were unable to see anything wrong in ignoring immigration laws; however, they could easily see something in the future that could be of great benefit to these political sleazebags.

Upon arrival in the sovereign nation of the United States, they were met with “gift bags” containing all sorts of goodies. Gift cards for clothing and hygiene products, SNAP cards, new cell phones, maps, plus instructions on how to avoid and handle Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, whose job it is to enforce immigration law. Not the deterrent for which one would hope.

All the while, opportunistic politicians in cities nationwide were quick to jump onto the bandwagon of compassion, opening the doors to everyone and anyone with a pulse, no questions asked. The possibility an illegal might be a criminal in their home country was met with scorn creating an invisible ‘force-field’ termed “sanctuary city.”

This brilliant display of civil disobedience on the part of largely Democrat mayors and gubenors was not without motive. After a few years of public amnesia, these anti-American pols would insist these illegal leaches should be made citizens without question. That would enable the newcomers to gain the right to vote resulting in re-election of their Democrat mentors. Neat, eh?

But the large swath of problems was covered up as much as the Dem’s desired results. If these shenanigans could be kept quiet, the Republican Party would fade into history without a future. The fix was in.

To recap, the Democrats and Democratic Socialists (aka: Communists,) begged literally countless unvetted foreigners to break the law by entering the United States of America without paperwork. Once here, those miscreants were given lots of latitude to include guvment goodies, healthcare, methods of transportation, “free” educations, as well as housing and food – all on the taxpayer’s backs.

Politicians then protected these invaders by not only ignoring pertinent laws, but antagonizing President Donald Trump who inherited this poop hurricane from President Plugs.

But the best part of all this is that many of those nitwits who, only a few months ago were marching around college and university campuses calling for the extermination of Jews, thought it would be a terrific idea to march on behalf of these foreigners who want to remain foreigners within America.

Parading around Minneapolis, Minnesota, waving flags from their home nations, these tribalists proudly felt it was necessary to distinguish themselves from immigrants wanting to join the great melting pot to become citizens. Rather, they were hell-bent on making the rules in their newly adopted country, but with the blessing and protection of both Minnesota Gubenor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

Both those individuals clearly hate something called Law and Order, and I suspect, American taxpayers.

Stifling the law enforcement efforts of ICE, whose job it is to corral immigration scofflaws, have been encouraging the populace to “resist,” “document,” and “hinder,” any and all attempts to round-up wanted individuals by ICE agents.

Rabble rousers from around the nation descended upon Minneapolis to help their Commie buddies summarily hide, besides stifle the identification and capture of wanted illegal aliens.

Blocking roads, blowing warning whistles, using megaphones, while smashing vehicle windows and spray painting the infrastructure, all have become parts of a ‘sport’ with which zeal and over-enthusiasm to create mayhem seems to have been intentionally misdirected by the legacy media and Democrat politicians, alike.

As a result, ICE agents have been doxxed, maimed, harassed, plus physically and mentally abused by these social do-gooders. So, who are they protecting with these life-threatening actions?

Car thieves, spousal abusers, drug dealers, rapists, gang members, murderers, and kidnappers are among those ardently protected by Minneapolis Democrats from being served warrants and finally removed for others’ safety. For your information, it’s called due process.

But left off that list is a bunch of sub-humans termed “child abusers.” Remember that aforementioned helmetless child whose family could be disrupted because of his parents’ not enforcing their offspring’s obligation to wear a safety device?

These child abusers fall under the category of sexual abuse, which activities often lead to the murder of the child victim in order to hide the crime. Not as harmless as a pie-in-the-sky activist would like to believe. These are real, dangerous criminals who are now being protected by lies, lies, and more lies as means to an end.

It’s time to place blame for all the violence where it belongs rather than where the Leftists would like you to believe it belongs.

It should be appropriately, squarely placed on the shoulders of those who actively encourage this smoke and mirrors, tongue-in-cheek hoopla: Tim Walz and Jacob Frey.
